Mesothelioma and Asbestos

We have wide experience of acting for those people or their family who have developed an Asbestos related disease.

Asbestos is the single greatest cause of work related deaths in the UK.

Asbestos was commonly used in the construction industry until the late 1970s. If you have worked or are working on a building built or refurbished before 2000 you may well come in to contact with Asbestos.

A key factor in the risk of developing an asbestos-related disease is the total number of fibres that you breath in. Working on or near damaged asbestos-containing materials or breathing in high levels of asbestos fibres, can increase the risk of developing an asbestos-related disease in later life such as Asbestosis or Mesothelioma. These diseases are almost always disabling and in the case of Mesothelioma always fatal.

These diseases do not affect you immediately in life. Symptoms can lie dormant for many years and in some cases it can be 40 years before symptoms to show. If you have developed an Asbestos related disease which you believe is as a result of your employment then you maybe entitled to bring a compensation claim.

Examples of people who have been exposed to Asbestos during their employment include construction workers, plumbers and heating and ventilation engineers. This list is not exhaustive and recent personal injury claims have includes teachers who have been exposed to Asbestos fibres in their working environment.

We are experienced at guiding people through the legal process during a difficult time in their life and do so sensitively and efficiently.
